Are There Any Secrets To Being Successful At Affiliate Marketing?

by Larry Lasby

Affiliate marketing has been around longer than I’d like to remember, it has been called by different names at different times. When You stop and think about it, how much different is affiliate marketing from MLM? The only real difference is that with MLM you have to buy monthly product and hope you can sell the product to others.

Affiliate Marketing doesn’t require you to buy large quantities each month in order to get commissions from the products you sell. One thing that the two have in common, you have to spend a lot of time working it to be successful. You must get your name and product out there to the world one way or another.

How you write your ads is one of the determining factors to your success. Quite frankly some of the ads I’ve seen from affiliate marketers are not a whole lot different than some of the National Enquirer Headlines. “Deaf and Dumb Nerd stumbles onto new way to market with PPC and made $243,972.00 in six months. I could go on, but I don’t want to insult your intelligence here.

If you are willing to work hard and you are willing to exert some time flexing your affiliate muscles you will be successful. Other determining factors are the size of your pocket book. Have you ever bought a tool or an e-book that the marketer wasn’t up selling you with another e-book or a tool to you know, ah to be successful? Because I’ve used them I can tell you that Magazine Ads are expensive and a few years back started at around $3,500 for a half page color ad. Whew… your eyeballs pop out just thinking about it, no?

What about the tools you are going to need to be successful? The same ones that the majority of marketers use even if they do not do affiliate marketing. Let’s see there is the Autoresponder, classified ads, Color ads, Lying, opps, I didn’t mean to say that but I really question the ethics of some marketers and when your customer buys from you and questions you, it is goodbye Johnny boy.

Another thing you must do to increase your revenue quickly is to get more links on the Internet that point to your website. The reason this is important is because the more links you have, the higher your web page will be returned in the rankings, and the more traffic you will receive because of it. Also, when you have links scattered about the Internet, more people will run across your link and pay your website a visit. You can have your link included on other websites, in forums, blogs, ezine articles, and basically in any part of the web you can think of where another website will post it.

Back links are the affiliate marketers road to success if you own your own website, you can do this affectively with the right software, the one I use, submitting articles. What this affectively does is raise your rankings in the Search Engines. If every article you write is submitted to 1,000 directories you can see that the links will start coming in in no time. You write your article using the keyword you want to get ranked for and walla…

Information overload is the number one killer of sales in affiliate marketing. I mean we are talking about the site that takes you most of 30 minutes to read and leaves you feeling like you just got done reading a big fat blank when you were done reading it. It kind of reminds me of the guys who are trying to dazzle you with brilliance and have set out to baffle you with BS in the event that the first option didn’t work out too well. You are selling something you believe in, or you are selling something that you believe your potential customer wants. Keep IT Simple.
